The next one is retinoic acid. This is one of the mild agents that works steadily and effectively. The first reaction of this medicine is aggravation but then it slowly does its job of removing the dead skin cells.

Sulfur-is another type of effective medication, be it in the form of cream, lotion or gel, which provides the back up to heal blemishes.

The problems with the skin, when you have the attack of are many and so are the means of treatment. The Salycylic acid clears the pores, takes out dirt and oils but its specific job is to treat the blackheads.

More or less, in the same category, you have Azelic acid. This is very mild and non-toxic. It attacks bacteria, the root cause of acne, diminishes inflammation and restores the original health of acne. The dark post-acne spots are taken care of, by this medicine.

All the above are available as over the counter medications in the form of creams, lotion and gels.
